This dataset, spatially represented as polygons, contains the only known or suspected Native American Reservations previously located in Oakland County. The features were digitized using information obtained from two sources. Boundaries for two of the features are shown on a county-wide map (unknown scale) - Map No.6 of the Archeological Atlas of Michigan, by Wilbert B. Hinsdale, as part of the University Museum, University of Michigan, Michigan Handbook Series No. 4, 1931. A third, nameless reservation, was identified in the Oakland County Book of History, 1970. Key attribute is Name. |
